Another Question About An Lcd Tv. I Aked Aminute Ago About The Stretched Picture-none Of The Answers Seemed?
right. 2 people at tech support said I need a cable box instead of cable into TV to fix it and higher tech support said it needs to be serviced. Absurd-it is 4 days old. Also, when I auto program it only programs 6 channels- I had to manually put in all the channels. Do I need to take this thing back? Is the stretched appearance normal-is the auto program normal? It's a Samsung 26" LCD.

We’ll take another shot at answering this. If you can shut-off the stretching mode and set to “normal”, your TV is working the way they all do. If you can’t shut off the stretching, then it’s not. If you need a cable box to stop the stretching, get a different TV.
You should pick-up all of your cable’s unencrypted analog channels-there should be a slew of them. If your TV has a QAM tuner, you should also pick-up all of your cable’s unencrypted digital channels, including HD.
If you don’t have a QAM tuner, then you do need either an antenna, or a cable box to receive HD.
No one should be telling you to get service on a four day old set-bring it back if you’re not happy with it. See if the display model works the way you want it to.
