Can A Hdtv Stand With An Arm That Says It Can Hold A 50″ Hdtv Probably Hold A 52″ Plasma Or Lcd Tv As Well?
Is it possible that a TV stand that says it can hold upto a 50" LCD or plasma TV and 135 lbs, actually hold a 52-inch HDTV?

i wouldn’t take chances. i would get an arm that is made for the size TV that you have. if something happens, you won’t be covered because you improperly used the equipment.

LCD most likely yes, plasma maybe not. Plasma sets are much heavier than LCD sets, about double for equal screen sizes. Google any model that you’re considering and check the total weight in the specs.
My 46 inch LCD weighs about 50 pounds and I know an equivalent plasma was about 100. A 52 inch plasma might push the limit of your 135 pound-rated stand.
This is another reason to consider LCD over plasma.

If it’s a plasma, check the specs to find the weight. Any 52″ LCD will be under 135 lbs. Now, when you say “with an arm” if you mean a mounting bracket then it should be VESA compliant and it would not be the right size for a 52″. Vesa compliance is the standard for spacing on tv mounts.
