Can I Install An Lcd Tv On Top Of A Fireplace?
I have a corner fireplace (gas) and would like to place an LCD TV on top. A certain amount of heat is generated from the fireplace.

not a great idea. soot and other contaminants will filter into the unit and no warranty or extended service deal will cover that because that is considered enviroment and/or consumer abuse.

I would make sure that you have a deep mantle underneath it. Between a deep mantle and the flue it should stay relatively cool.
If you are going to do it, I also recommend the extended service plan.

My girlfriends uncle has a setup like that. I don’t think it generates to much heat and a lot of the heat goes up the flu anyway. Does your fireplace have glass doors and vent for the heat? If so I would use those.
