Can I Put My Lcd Tv On Top Of My Dvd Player?

My cannot put my DVD player in the tv cabinet. Would it hurt the DVD player to put my 32 inch LCD TV on top of it?

  1. (1) – Definitely worry about the weight issue like others have mentioned. I would think most DVD players would not be well suited to handle that in the long run. I think it could lead to a warping of the chassis, and long term possibly damaging the player.
    (2) – Also worry about the head. Would putting the TV on top block any air vents for the DVD player? That would certainly be very bad for the player.
Even if it doesn’t, usually most are setup so the top surface acts as some degree of heat sink. And then put the TV on top of it and you will be preventing airflow from helping to remove the access heat. Or possibly be adding heat to the TV, so now you might be adding a bit of extra wear on the TV (not much, as its the stand taking the brunt of the heat, but hey if some of that travels towards the TV and adds another degree or so to its operating temperature, that’s still added wear).

  2. It’s not a great idea, but depending on how sturdy the DVD player is, it might work. If it causes any flexing of the DVD player or chassis, then I’d definitely recommend against it.
The best approach is to put a small stand ontop of your cabinet to put the TV on so you can slide the DVD player underneath. Something like this:http://www.whitehorsepottery.com/desk_ri…

  3. this all depends on both the weight of the LCD TV and the strength of the DVD player ofc….. My LCD TV is 26″ and is sitting on my DVD player as wee speak… I don’t see why the extra inch’s would make a difference. hope this helped :)

  4. depends, how strong is your dvd player and how heavy is your tv, probably will brake though
