Can I Put Speakers Not Magnetically Shieded Close To A Lcd Tv?
I just purchased a LCD TV, and I have a pair of good speakers but not magnetically shielded. If I put them close to the TV, would they harm the LCD TV as in the case of CRT TV? In other words, would LCD TV be magnetised?

Realist 2006 is right. Magnetic fields only affect CRT sets which depend on an electron beam to make the picture. Electron beams are extremely susceptible to even the tiniest magnetic fields. The earth’s magnetic field can (and does) affect CRT sets… especially the larger screen sizes.

NO ! I was told to put my front speakers 3-4 ft. from each end of the TV, so the magnetic field would not affect the screen.

Yes you can ! no effect at all on LCD.
No LCD would not be magnetized !!

well how close do you want to put them to your tv? i would be concerned if they were less than 1ft to the tv. lcd tv’s are not at much risk of damage from non-magnetically shielded speakers, but most speakers are shielded. if you are hanging your tv on the wall you may want to conceder flat screen speakers they are just very thin so they match tour tv better try klipsch.

LCD TVs are protected against magnetic fields….Just be careful of touching the panel with fingers….. That’s their weak point….
Put as many speakers around your LCD as you want….they are magnet-proof…..
