You are mixing a bunch of things up here.
Since you are using the term “Full HD” I will assume you are in the UK. “HD Ready” means different things in the States and the UK. In the UK, “HD Ready” means the TV can show 1080p video if it is delivered to the set. That’s a key point.
MPEG4 is a format for encoding the video for transport. It has nothing to do with the resolution (1080p, 1080i, 720p, etc.).
So, what is the resolution of the display on the TV (the native resolution)? You should be able to find this in the owners manual or specifications. THAT is what you will see. Whatever resolution video you give to the set, it will scale to the native resolution of the TV. A Full HD set will “understand” any resolution you give it, but it will convert it to the native resolution of the display, whatever that is.

The full HD is 1080P and the only source for 1080P is the Blue Ray disc movies. TV programs are only in 720P when in HD, the rest of the programs are in 480P. DVD movies are in 480P. Remember you can not tell the difference between 720P and 1080P is screen smaller than 46″. Manufacturer of tv’s are pushing the 1080P weather you are looking for Plasma, LCD or LED tv in just about every size. Hope this will help.
