How Do I Fix A Single Red-pixel On My Lcd Tv ?

I have an LCD TV (just out of warranty) that has a single red
pixel near the center of the screen. Sometimes you can see it sometime you can not, it depends on what is on the screen.
Any ideas how to fix it ?

  1. I’ve often heard that it’s impossible to fix a dead pixel but this site is claiming to have a few possible solutions: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel…
Even if your warranty was still active, a lot of manufacturers won’t consider a screen defective until there are a number of dead pixels, 7-15 according to this article: http://news.com.com/Consumers+see+red+ov…
I just bought an LCD myself so I’m assuming this is an issue I’ll face in the hopefully distant future.

  2. It’s entirely possible that the oils in your display may have redistributed themselves around that spot. There’s an old trick I used to do when I worked for a TV repair shop: take a damp (not wet, but damp) rag and apply even pressure to the spot on the screen while the LCD is on. Then, while keeping pressure on the screen, trun off your TV. Remove the rag and turn the TV back on.
No guarantees it will work, but it sometimes worked for me.

  3. CHECK WITH COMPANY FOR WARRANTY EXTENSION , SCREEN BAD. EXPENSIVE.
