How Do I Fix My Lcd Tv?

There are some scratches on the lcd screen. One of the scratches is pretty bad. Can I get the screen replaced? Can the scratches be patched? How much would these kind of repairs cost? Would a tv repair man be able to do it?

  1. You probably have a dead end with this TV. Read on…
The surfaces of most LCD screens have a “mat” finish to reduce glare. If you were to try to “buff” the scratches out you would surely change the finish in certain areas ultimately affecting the way the picture would look from a distance. Further more, LCD screens are sensitive to pressure and you could possibly do more damage while attempting to polish the scratches out.
There are no real parts you can order for an LCD screen besides an entirely new LCD element to replace the current one. That would probably cost more than the TV did when it was new.
I hate to say it but you either have to do with or do without on this one.

  3. The screen can be ‘fixed’ only by replacement. IF you have a quality name brand, you MIGHT be able to get the parts, if it isn’t too old. However, the cost of replacement is likely to set you back about as much as a new TV. Reality check – live with it of get a new one and be more careful of the screen next time.
