How Do You Connect Samsung La46a950 Lcd Tv To My Amp?
Having problems connecting my Samsung LA46A950 LCD TV to my pioneer receiver SX303R.The Samsung has a optical Digital Audio Out but my amp hasnt got a Optical Digital connection.

yes, I agree with John..You have an excellent full panel LED, which undoubtedly was pretty expensive, how could you not know that your old receiver would not produce today’s digital sound? You must know something if you bought a 950? Or did you buy it blindly?

The optical out on the tv only passes stereo unless you are using an antenna. And that is the only audio out on the tv. If you are using a cable or sat. box you can run an optical cable straight from the cable/sat box into a receiver with optical in and get surround.
In your case, without an optical input on your receiver, you can either buy a new one with optical in or use red/white audio cables straight from the cable/sat box into your receiver and use one of the pro logic settings on your receiver for pseudo surround, it’s not bad if you don’t feel like getting a new receiver now.
