Price will depend on features and the quality of the TV. You can check the price/feature comparison websites listed here to decide:http://indiahometips.com/lcd-tv-buying-g…

If you never had/watched a HDTV in your life then you can have an off brand and be content. But the second you compare an off brand to a quality brand it will look like fecal matter. Even if you can get a larger TV of a lesser brand for the same price I would advise against it because it just doesn’t produce the same quality.
The top tier LCD tvs are Samsung, Sharp, and Sony. If you are looking for a decent quality for a cheaper price than those go for LG. With TVs you really do get what you pay for. What price range are you looking for?

I hate to say it, but the “brand” with LCD and plasma TVs is usually your best indicator. The previous poster is correct in stating that Sony makes the best LCD, followed by Samsung. The Videocon TV you are contemplating isn’t even searchable on Amazon- that should tell you something- i.e., that the TV is probably not even close to good.
You sound like you’re on a budget. It would help us suggest TVs in the size you want, and at your price range, if you would tell us how much money you have to spend. There are so many deals on TVs right now that you would be doing yourself a disservice by not asking a more detailed question. For example, you could pick up a 42-inch Panasonic plasma (second best plasma manufacturer, Pioneer is best) for $489 at Best Buy online right now. I know you don’t have that much money to spend, but it’s intended to be an example.
Post another question, or edit this one, and tell us how much you are looking to spend- you’ll get better, and much more specific, recommendations that way.

You want quality or want to save money best LCD is SONY and after that u have SAMSUNG don’t even think of other brand.I would suggest go to a place which keeps all of the above brands and u will see the change when u see all working at the same time and put on cable connection and not a Blue ray disc which they always put when they r showing a LCD T.V. Try doing this and u will see the difference

This is a cheap brand of tv and uses low quality parts. Go online to Best Buy and check out the Panasonic 32″ LCD. Read the reviews from customers who purchased one and compare it to the other brands. It was on sale for $399 and when I went to purchase one they had sold out so I purchased the 37″ model. Remember you get what you pay for. Hope this will help you out.

Same as why Ford is cheaper than BMW. Quality. Try Sharp, better bang for your buck.
