How To Connect My Toshiba Laptop To My Lcd Tv Using A S-video Cable?
I was told to hold down the Fn key then F9 and the

Holding the function and then hitting the appropriate F key for your laptop is how to toggle through the different outpouts for a laptop.
So yes this could work as long as it is the correct key combination for your laptop.
The only way to know is to try it. If that doesn’t work try Fn + F5
(Also you may have to hit the F9 or F5 key a few times until it gets to the correct output which would be s-video in your case).
