Is It Normal To Have Bright Marks On The Top And Bottom Of My Lcd Tv?
I just spent a lot of money on a Samsung 22inch HD LCD. On the top and bottom of the display, there is brighter then normal horizontal bars that run across. More noticeable when the TV displays a plain black screen.

not look normal to me -go to any store and see the disply samsung lcd tv see if it got same top and bottom brighter display.if not return the tv.

I think it’s not normal. It can be considered normal, when the brightness of the horizontal bars is same as the brightness of the tv when displaying a plain blank screen. Backlight is uniform for the whole screen, so there should not be any difference in brightness when showing a plain blank screen. Anyway, just call the Samsung to clarify your doubt. And as praful suggested, it’s better for you to go to a nearby electronic store and observe the lcd tvs there.
