Is It Ok To Mount A Lcd Tv Above An Aquarium?
I have a 42" lcd tv and I am getting ready to set up a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium. I am thinking of mounting the tv on the wall and setting up the tank below the tv. I am just wondering if anyone has done this and what results did you have? Is evaporation a problem for the tv? I am open to any ideas/comments on the topic....thanks!!!

You want to RISK THAT?
Why not mount one in your Shower/Bath?
Too much humidity for that?
What about servicing your TV set just above the aquarium? Taking it down and OOOPs it fell, dang where’d this slippery substance come from? Looks like algae…
I’d make you take it down by yourself before I’d service it for you…That’s to protect ME.

OK an interesting question, as a technician I usually have to think about tvs above heat sources not water.
A properly mounted tv is certainly not going to fall in the water and the tank can be covered for a short time whilst installing the set.
The only problem I can see would be humidity, condensation in the tv would be a major problem.
I wonder if a wide shelf between the tank and the tv would reduce the risk?
I have never noticed damp patches on walls above such tanks so wonder if there would be any effects on the tv at all.
If this is the only sensible place for the tv and tank then on balance I would fit a wide shelf and go for it.
I now wait to be shot down in flames for the above advice
best of luck from John.
