Is There A Way To Output To An Lcd Tv At One Resolution, While Showing The Lcd Monitor At Another Resolution?

I am trying to get my LCD TV to show through VGA at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and the LCD Monitor through DVI at a resolution of 1680 x 1050. Is there a way to show the exact same output, whilst using different resolutions?

  1. If you set your LCD TV to display 1680×1050, then you can get it to display the exact same output as your LCD monitor.
Remember that exact same output means it has to be at the same resolution too.
Anyway, you are hooking things up wrong. You should use analog VGA with the lower resolution display (your monitor) and digital DVI with your higher-resolution LCD HDTV (via a DVI-to-HDMI cable). DVI/HDMI works better at higher resolutions.
