  1. I suspect that you have an HDTV and don’t have HD service. If I’m wrong, re-post with more information about what is wrong with your picture.
If I’m right, you’re watching a standard definition channel on an HDTV.
SD on an HDTV does not look good. The only way to get a picture like you see in the stores is by supplying your TV an HD signal either from an antenna, a cable HD box or a satellite HD box.
Now if your cable looks bad on a standard analog TV, then there’s something wrong with your cable service. If you have a lot of splitters in the line and the picture is snowy, then an amplifier before the first splitter would help.

  2. Your not going to get HD picture quality without HD service. Even broadcast HD would be a better picture than regular digital cable.
I read that HDTVs are shipped with the controls for color, sharpness, color temp, brightness, etc practically maxed out.
Go in the menu, and back these off to half, or even a quarter of the setting they were shipped with. You should see some improvement.
I know what you mean, the hot weather chick on channel 4 doesn’t look as good in HD, shows too many flaws………lol

  3. As the others say, if your expecting HD on every channel, sorry, won’t happen! If you have a newer LCD you want to go to the menu and see if you have the capability to fine tune or boost your signal there. Probably under “channels” in your menu.
