I'm thinking it would be fun to play ps3 games on a large screen but I see shadows following moving characters on the lcd tv's that I see in stores. Is that distracting when playing let's say hockey?
Those are problems due to either cheap TVs, improper usage of the TV, or both. If you buy a decent 40′ LCD TV (do not get Plasma) the picture will not distort in that way. Places like Wal-mart leave there TVs on all day and let pictures sit which cause damage. People also touch the displays and do other stupid things because they just don’t care.
It may also be that they have bad cables connected. When you get your LCD make sure it’s 1080p, and pick up a 1.3 HDMI cable. This way you’ll have the best picture possible. Remember to set your PS3 to 1080p in settings as well (it should auto-detect the proper settings, but make sure its correct).
ive never heard of this problem. i have my ps2 up to a big screen and after i calibrated the screen the picture looks mint, not high def obviously but still looks great
Ummm
My personal opinion would be NO coz i’m so engrossed in the game that my eye’s don’t catch the shadows. Actually I found 40”+ Plasmas or LCDs strainous to my eyes. They hurt after a while due to the gigantic screen resolution. So, I personally feel 32” or 37” should be enough.
