It is not advised to clean your monitor or LCD TV with anything containing the following chemicals: Acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. Pay particular attention to ammonia as most glass cleaners contain it.
Isopropyl alcohol is frequently used, in cleaners, or in a 50/50 ratio with water. Although avoiding alcohol all together is also generally safer.
As recommended before, I would find a dedicated screen cleaner. Monster Screeclean and PixelClean both seem to be high quality and alcohol free.
Also remember:
Never spray anything directly on your screen, and always power the screen down before cleaning.

NO!! ABSOLUTELY NOT…
the front of an LCD screen is plastic (plasma’s are glass fronted) and using meths will ruin it permanently.
your screen shouldn’t get so bad as to need drastic cleaning anyway so just use a slightly damp clean soft cloth (with no chemicals whatsoever on it) to wipe the screen over.
