Yes. You’ll generally pay more than a comparable TV and upconverting DVD player would as seperates, and your DVD player will have fewer features. Also, when your DVD player breaks in a few years (and it will,) you’ll still need an external player box.
While it seems like a nice, perfect package you actually wind up making a poor choice. Rarely you will see a very high end television with a built in DVD player. There is a reason for this that is beyond marketing.
In all electronics you want to avoid heat. By putting more components into once place at a time you run risk for creating more heat. More heat over time can cause problems. So, when your DVD goes, your whole TV is useless.
Another person on this thread makes the best point. DVD players are inexpensive now. Find one with a well known brand (you do not need Blu Ray) and purchase that separately. Spend the extra dollars on the stand alone TV. It will be worth it.
Against. Your LCD will last longer than your DVD player, and you’re more likely than not to wind up with a cool TV and a DVD player with duct tape on it.
DVD players are so cheap now, why not just get an external one and use that cash to get a better LCD?
i suggest an lcd without built in dvd player, cool if its hd,
and get a ps3, which has a built in blueray player, blueray is better than dvd in so many ways, dvd wont last another year or so.
tvs with built in dvd players are gay! if it’s hidden like it goes into the side of the tv or something out of sight then it’s cool! if it’s in the front gay! cooler out of site remember that!
