Should We Bother To Fix A 2 Year Old Lcd Tv Or Just Buy A New One?
We have a 40 inch Samsung LCD TV that is about 2.5 yrs old and it has stopped turning on, the red light flashes but it won't turn on.
Should we bother having it repaired or just get a new one?

If the repair over $100. You’re better to buy a new one. I found the cheapest of 40 inch Toshiba cost just $780 at http://lcdhdtvs.us/

It could be something inexpensive to fix. You should call some TV repairmen and get some estimates, most will do free estimates, and see what the cost to fix it is going to be. If it is inexpensive then you are better off fixing it then replacing it.

Fixing might be a better option since as I understand from the site below & others that a LCD should last upto 20 years – one of the Pros of LCD vs Plasma http://www.squidoo.com/LCD-TV-42-inch

sounds like the bulb is out… should be like 20-40 dollars. take it to the place you bought, and ask them if they can tell you what wrong even though out of waranty.

Get a repair quote.
Then see which would cost more. OR if it is worth repairing.
I think you might be able to get a quote from geek squad?
OR directly from Samsung
