Help With Connecting An Lcd Tv To A Desktop?
I'm having trouble connecting my desktop to my LCD tv as a monitor. Every time I turn on the computer while its connected to the tv it will show the windows booting screen and then the tv will say unusable signal. Im using a VGA cable to connect the two. but when i connect my laptop and press function f4, it works fine, it shows the whole desktop. Is it the settings on my desktop?

I have an LCD tv and I am hoping to get a new desktop computer. My tv has an HDMI input and obviously the computer will too. Now can I hook a desktop up to the tv through HDMI without using the computers screen also? If this is possible I would also need to know what I would need to buy.

ok i have an olivia lcd 26" tv that i want to use as my moniter and i hooked it up went on vga and it goes all the way to the microsoft loading and then it just shuts off. so what am i doing wrong? i even installed the plug and play monitor thing when i pluged in my moniter and then i tried the same thing and it happened again? so whats going on?

I have a HP Digital entertainment center hooked up via DVI/HDMI interface to my Yamaha AV receiver to my Sony LCD TV by HDMI. I can barely see the edge of my desktop. I have tried changing the video settings on my TV and resolution on the computer. Nothing has worked. Thanks!!
