The External Tv Aerial In My Room Does Not Work, How Can I Get Decent Quality Picture On My Lcd Tv?
I recently bought a Mikomi15" TV for my room in a house, it has an external aerial on the wall, but when i connect the cable from wall to TV, the tv says no signal. Not sure if its the aerial or TV. Any suggestions, as i'm about to return LCD TV and try traditional CRT

Your aerial must be aligned to point in the direction of your local transmitter, for example if you live in London its probably Crystal Palace. Some TV manuals give a list of transmitting stations, but if not do a web search for UK television transmitters.
Alignment usually means loosening a couple of bolts on the coupling near the top of the vertical aerial pole, but don’t put yourself into a dangerous position attempting this.

Your external aerial is IN the room. If this is the case it should be outside for any decent picture. If it worked on the previous CRT it should work on an LCD TV, unless you have not tuned the new one in. Have you followed the manufacturers set-up instructions, especially if it’s a Freeview model. If you have it may possibly be that Freeview is not available in your area yet and you may have to resort to analogue at this stage. If this is the case and the new TV does not receive both then you will have to either exchange it for one that does or settle for an analogue only model and add a Digi-box when your area goes digital

The technology used to display the image ie LCD or CRT is irrelevant to your particular problem.
Does the TV have a small loop aerial or whip aerial built in? If yes try that.
Can you take the TV to another tennant or neighbour and ask them to try it out for you? Two heads are better than one.

If the cable worked before, then its the TV. You can get flat internal areas that you hang on the wall or in windows for a better signal if its the cable.

When u say that u have an external aerial on the wall do u mean a socket leading to an external aerial or an aerial on the wall?
If u have a socket it may no longer be connected to an aerial! Try another TV. (speak to your landlord).
If u want digital (freeview) channels first of all does your local transmitter transmit digital tv, if it does u will need to be in a area with good reception and possibly have the existing aerial replaced with a digital one. Talk to your local independant TV shop for free advice (not the big chains they don’t have a clue). Hope the picture’s clearer!!
