What Height Can I Install My Lcd Tv With A 20 Degree Tilt?
I am looking to buy a 32-42 inch LCD tv as our old one has finally given up on us. Should not really be a problem, however I have 1 year old little girl who loves to lick, kiss and hug the TV at any opportunity possible. As I understand it LCD Tv's are a bit more delicate than old school ones< thus we are thinking of wall mount the new TV.
I have seen lots of mountings for LCD and Plasma TV, however I need to know if I get on with a 20 degree tilt, at what height will it allow me to place the TV. Unlitmately will it be high enough to be out of reach of my daughter, but still viewable by my wife and myself.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

For optimal viewing, the screen should be at a height where eye level is at the bottom to middle of the screen, while sitting in a position where you will watch most TV. You will compromise that somewhat with a tilt mounting bracket.
Here’s a thought: There is NOTHING wrong with taking a little parental responsibility and telling your child NO, absolutely NO, she can’t do that, and then paddling her little backside if she doesn’t listen.

The new ones (Samsung 32″) just fitted in my daughter’s local pub are sited such that the bottom section (i.e. the bit with the speakers) is at eye level from a distance of about three feet with somebody who is around 5ft 10″. They have a 15-20deg tilt.

Get one with a good swivel adjustment to it….
Mount it so the BOTTOM of the TV is at 5 feet if possible….
Then adjust it accordingly….
IF you REALLY WANT to protect it, go to your LOCAL Lumber store and purchase a piece of LEXAN and a roll of VELCRO and have them cut the Lexan to fit the screen about 1 to 2 inches larger than the display area. Then just attach the Velcro to the TV first or to the Screen, pull off the paper and set the Lexan onto the TV…..
Voila! Instant Protection at half the cost of a protective screen….and it won’t yellow like Plexiglass does.
And you won’t have to worry about it at all…..
