according to Wikipedia.com, a dead pixel is usually best seen against a white background. so you need to somehow get the tv to display a white background. (either watch a dvd and pause it at a white background or something)
TV on a black screen probably, because dead pixels usually show up as red or green (in my experience)
But there is an acceptable amount of dead pixels and I think that number was less than .01% of them
